The Challenger Hydration Vest is engineered to endure through mud, sweat, and mountain miles. But even the toughest gear needs a little TLC to maintain its "locked-in" fit and technical performance.

1. The Challenger Vest

Your vest is made of high-performance technical mesh and elastic. It’s designed to be breathable, but salt and grit can clog those pores over time.

The Post-Run Rinse: After a sweaty run, give your vest a quick rinse in cool, fresh water. It takes 30 seconds and prevents salt from eating away at the fibers.

Deep Cleaning:Hand Wash (Recommended): Use cool water and a mild, technical detergent. Machine Wash (If you must): Use a mesh laundry bag, a delicate cycle, and cold water.

The Golden Rule: NO fabric softeners. They coat the fibers and destroy the moisture-wicking capabilities of the mesh.

Drying: Hang your vest in a well-ventilated area. Never, ever put it in a tumble dryer—high heat is the enemy of elastic.

2. The 500ml Soft Flasks

Hydration gear requires specific care to stay hygienic and ensure your water always tastes fresh. Our flasks are BPA-free and built for durability, but they need regular attention.

The Post-Run Rinse: After every run, rinse the flask and the bite valve with warm, soapy water. Don't let residue sit, especially if you use electrolyte powders or gels.

Deep Cleaning: Once a month (or if you notice a "plastic" taste), fill the flask with warm water and a teaspoon of bicarbonate of soda. Let it soak for 30 minutes before rinsing thoroughly.

Bite Valve Care: The silicone bite valve can be removed for a deeper clean. Gently pull it off to ensure no residue is trapped in the housing.

The Freezer Trick: After washing and air-drying, store your empty flasks in the freezer. This is the most effective way to prevent mold and bacteria from growing between uses.

Temperature Control: Never use boiling water to clean your flasks. Stick to "warm to the touch" temperatures to protect the ultrasonic seals and the integrity of the flask wall.

Important: The side straps are crucial for achieving the right fit. Adjust these straps to make the vest tighter or looser. When you tighten the side straps, they also pull the centre straps, making them tighter and preventing them from becoming loose during your run.
